Easy and Efficient Translation Process

Now that you have decided on the documents that require translation, it is time to introduce WhizWordz’s translation process.

We have adopted a 7-step process based on our past experience for your convenience.

Of course, it can be tweaked and customised to suit your individual needs:

  • Client sends us his documents

The source documents that require translation are sent to us.

  • Quotation and Confirmation

A quotation is generated based on 1) and further questions are asked at this stage.

These include details like style and tonality, delivery time and format of delivery.

After a confirmation has been received, the translation project is officially started.

  • Project Start

Our project manager will assign and allocate the most suitable and competent translators for every job.

This is primarily based on the source text, but may include other factors like delivery time, tonality and other specific requirements from the client.

  • End of Translation and Proofreading/Editing

After all the documents have been translated, they are sent to our senior proofreader/editor to check for quality.

These include checking for spelling and grammatical errors, missing translations, tonality and style and localisation.

The translator and editor will keep in constant contact throughout this part of the process, because they may need to discuss specific changes and agree on them.

  • Formatting and Submission to Client

After the proofreader and the translator have agreed on the final file to be submitted, the project manager will take over and make some minor changes to the file, where necessary.

This could include changing the font size of certain words, bolding, italics, word colour and other details, as these are not really the focus of the proofreading stage.

  • Client review

Submission to client is not the final step of the process. The client looks through the translation and inputs his own changes and comments. These are reflected back to the proofreader and translation. One thing to note is that both the proofreader and the translators are professionals with many years of experience, so they may not agree with all the changes that the client makes to the translated documents.

  • Project closure and Invoicing

After the translation has been done to the satisfaction of the client and he signs off, the project is considered closed and the accounts department then proceeds to invoice the client for the job. Of course, if there are further amendments down the road, the job can be “re-opened” to deal with the changes.

The above is a brief introduction to the services provided by WhizWordz International with regards to the translation of documents and the processes involved.
